The App Says Offline or Won't Load
Why SquadTracker shows a connection error and how to get back online
The App Says Offline or Won't Load
If SquadTracker won't load, is stuck on the logo, or shows a connection message, it's almost always a network issue the app is actively trying to recover from on its own.
What you'll learn
- What the "No internet connection" banner and "Unable to Connect" screen mean
- Why the app sometimes shows "Server unavailable — retrying..."
- What to do if the app is stuck on the loading logo
- How an outdated app version can cause loading problems
No internet connection
In a browser you'll see an amber banner: "No internet connection. Some features may not work." In the native app, the whole screen changes to "Unable to Connect" with a status dot and an attempt count.
The device has lost its network connection — SquadTracker is checking in the background and will reconnect automatically.
- Check WiFi or mobile data — Make sure one of them is switched on.
- Move to better signal — A weak signal can look identical to no connection.
- Press Try Again or Check Connection — On the "Unable to Connect" screen, these recheck immediately rather than waiting for the automatic retry.
"Server unavailable — retrying..."
The status dot turns amber with "Server unavailable — retrying..." even though your connection is fine.
Your device can reach the internet, but SquadTracker's server didn't respond in time — often because it's mid-deploy.
- Wait a moment — The app keeps retrying on its own and reloads automatically once the server answers.
- Press Try Again — If you'd rather not wait for the next automatic check.
Stuck on the loading logo
The SquadTracker logo animation should clear within a few seconds of opening the app. If it never does, the app underneath failed to load — the same cause as above, just without the error screen showing yet.
- Close and reopen the app — Fully quit it (not just switch away) and relaunch.
- Check your connection — Follow the "No internet connection" steps above.
- Try again in a minute — If the server is updating, it'll be back shortly.
Outdated app version
Parts of the app — most often the subscription screen — tell you to update before they'll load properly.
Some features need a newer app version than the one installed.
- Open the App Store or Google Play — Search for SquadTracker and tap Update.
- Turn on automatic updates — Stops this happening again. See Download and Install SquadTracker for both store links.
