Using Team Chat
How the shared team chat works for parents, players and coaches
Using Team Chat
Every team has one open chat that brings coaches, parents and players together in one place — perfect for match-day updates, quick questions, and team polls.
What you'll learn
- What you can post, react to and vote on in team chat
- How photos work (and why they don't stick around forever)
- How to mute notifications if you need some quiet
- What extra things coaches can do
- Open Messages* — Tap the *Messages tab in the Hub navigation. You'll see "No team chat yet" until your coach switches the Hub on for your team.
- Post a message or photo — Type a message, or attach a photo to share from a match or training session. Photos are automatically removed after a set number of days, but your messages stay visible.
- React and reply — Tap any message to add an emoji reaction, and use polls to weigh in on team decisions.
- Create or vote in a poll — Anyone can start a poll with a question and 2–6 options, with an optional "Multiple answers" setting — handy for picking kit colours or training times.
- Edit or delete your own posts — Made a typo, or want to remove something? You can edit or delete any message you've posted yourself.
- Mute if you need to — Tap the bell icon to mute or unmute notifications for the chat at any time.
Quick Steps
Multiple teams
If you're linked to more than one team — say, two children playing for different sides — you'll see a tab per team in Messages, each with its own unread badge.
What coaches can do
Coaches show up with a "Coach" badge next to their name. They can pin an important message to the top of the chat for 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days, and can remove any message if needed to keep the chat on track.
FAQs
Do photos disappear straight away? No — they stay up for a set number of days before being automatically removed, giving everyone a chance to see and save them.
Can I turn off notifications just for busy weeks? Yes, use the bell icon — you can unmute again whenever you're ready.
