The Parent Registration Link

How to share your club's self-serve registration page and what it creates for each family

The Parent Registration Link

The Parent Registration Link is a public page where a parent or guardian can register themselves with your club and link their child's player record — no SquadTracker account needed on their side. It's built for collecting contact and payment details quickly, for example at a sign-up event or in a club group chat.

It's a different tool from a Player Hub invite — see How this differs from a Player Hub invite below before you decide which to use.

What you'll learn

  • What the registration link actually does and creates
  • Where to find and share your club's link
  • What happens automatically if your club collects payments
  • How this differs from a Player Hub invite
  • What a parent sees when they use the link

Quick Steps

  1. Find your link — If your club has Payments connected, open Payments and press Share Registration Link — it opens your phone's share sheet, or copies the link straight to your clipboard. If payments aren't connected yet, your link still works: it's squadtracker.co.uk/register/ followed by your club id — find your club id in the address bar on any club page.
  2. Share it however suits you — text, email, a club group chat, or printed at the pitch. The page needs no SquadTracker account to open.
  3. The parent fills in their details — First name, last name and email (required), plus phone (optional), on the Parent/Guardian Registration page.
  4. The parent selects their player(s) — They choose a team under Select Your Player(s), then search and tick their child — more than one if they have multiple children at the club.
  5. The parent presses Register — They see Registration Complete, and the club is only notified directly if a payment was triggered (see below).

What this creates

Registering creates a contact record for your club with the parent's name, email and phone, and links it to each player they selected. It does not create a SquadTracker login, and it doesn't ask for or record any consent choices — it's a contact and billing record, not an account.

If your club collects payments

If your club has Stripe connected and has a plan set to auto-subscribe for that player's team (or club-wide), registering immediately starts a subscription for each linked player and emails the parent a checkout link to complete it. See How Payments Work and Club Platform Billing for setting plans up.

How this differs from a Player Hub invite

The registration link is open to anyone who has it — there's no per-family invite, and no login is created, so it suits a quick sign-up moment rather than day-to-day app access. A Player Hub invite is the opposite: your coach sends it to one specific email, it creates a real login, and it's consent-gated for stats and photo sharing. Use the registration link to capture contacts and payments quickly; use a Hub invite for a family's ongoing access to fixtures, chat and stats.

Registering again

If a parent uses the link a second time with the same email, SquadTracker updates their details and links any newly selected players — it won't create a duplicate contact.

A note on who's represented

Registration is aimed at the parent or guardian, since the players listed are generally under-16s represented by a parent — a player aged 16 or over can act for themselves instead, including through their own Player Hub account.
