"No Active Season" and Unexpected Paywall Messages

What these messages mean and how to get past them

"No Active Season" and Unexpected Paywall Messages

Two messages can stop you in your tracks: a "No active season" toast when you try to add something, or a subscription screen appearing instead of your dashboard. Both point to something that needs setting up first, not a fault.

What you'll learn

  • Why adding a match or training session can be blocked, and how to fix it
  • What each paywall headline means — trial ending, subscription lapsed, or club billing
  • Why assistant coaches and linked parents keep free access
  • What to do if you've already paid but SquadTracker still shows the paywall

"No active season"

Adding a match or training session shows a red toast titled "No active season", saying "Your team needs an active season before you can add matches" (or training sessions), with a Go to Seasons button.

Matches and training sessions are always recorded against a season, so your team needs one marked active first.

  1. Press Go to Seasons — Takes you straight to Team Management → Seasons.
  2. Create or activate a season — Pick the current one for your team.
  3. Try adding the match or session again.

"Subscribe" or "Reactivate" paywall

Instead of your dashboard, you see a subscription screen headed Subscribe, Reactivate, or Subscription Required, with plan pricing.

This appears for head coaches once a 30-day free trial ends or a subscription lapses — only head coaches need to pay; assistant coaches and team admins always have free access.

  1. Choose a plan and press Subscribe Now — Or Manage Subscription if you're simply changing or cancelling an active one.
  2. Have a club code? — Open I have membership through my club on that screen and enter it for free access instead.
  3. Assistant coach on another team? — Press Continue as Assistant Coach to keep working there while you decide.

Club-sponsored coach, but access has stopped

You're a club-sponsored coach (free access through your club), but the paywall appears anyway.

Sponsored access depends on the club's own subscription staying active. If the club's billing lapses for more than 14 days, sponsored coaches lose free access too.

  1. Ask your club owner or admin to check Billing — In the club platform's left-hand menu.
  2. Once the club's subscription is current again, your access returns automatically — no action needed on your side.

You've already paid, but it's still showing

You subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, but the app still asks you to subscribe.

Purchases made in the app aren't always synced to SquadTracker's server straight away.

  1. Open the subscription screen — Press Already subscribed? Restore purchases.
  2. Wait for confirmation, then return to your dashboard.
