Seasons for Your Team
How SquadTracker seasons work, what rolls over each September, and what to do if you see No Active Season
Seasons for Your Team
Every match, training session and stat your team records belongs to a season, running 1 September to 31 August — the standard football year. SquadTracker creates your first season for you automatically, and keeps it current every year after that, so this is mostly a "check it's right" screen rather than one you need to set up yourself.
What you'll learn
- That a season is created for you automatically — you don't have to set one up
- What the active season controls, and what switching seasons changes
- How to create, activate or delete a season by hand
- What rolls over automatically each September, and what stays as it is
- What to do if you see No Active Season
Quick Steps
- Open Seasons — In Team Management, select the Seasons tab.
- Check the active season — The season marked Active is the one new matches, training sessions and stats are recorded against.
- Add next season early if you want to — Press Add Next Season; the name and 1 Sep–31 Aug dates are worked out for you.
- Activate it when you're ready — Press Activate on any season to make it the current one — useful if you want to start the new season before 1 September.
- Look back at a past season — On the Stats or Matches page, use the season dropdown to switch the view without changing which season is active.
What the active season controls
New matches and training sessions are recorded against whichever season is active, and that feeds your Stats leaderboards and dashboard. Switch the dropdown on the Stats or Matches page to a past season to see how things looked then — the active season itself only changes when you press Activate on a different one.
What happens automatically each September
Between 1 and 7 September, SquadTracker rolls every team onto the new season on its own — you don't need to do anything. Your players, their profiles and their history stay exactly where they are; only the active season changes, so goals, assists, appearances and match stats start counting fresh for the new season while last year's totals stay exactly as they were. If a team somehow ends up with no active season at all, SquadTracker heals it automatically every day, not just in September.
Creating, editing and deleting seasons by hand
Press Add Next Season to create next season ahead of time, or Edit to change a season's name or dates. A season with matches already recorded against it can't be deleted — the Delete button stays disabled until it has none.
If you see "No Active Season"
A few actions — like adding a match or a training session — need an active season to attach to. If you see a No Active Season message, press its Go to Seasons button, or open Team Management's Seasons tab yourself and press Activate on the right season.
Who can do this
Only the head coach or a team admin can create, edit, activate or delete a season. Assistant coaches can see the active season from their own Profile page, but need to ask their head coach for any changes.
