Achievement Badges: How Players Unlock Them

Achievement Badges: How Players Unlock Them
SquadTracker automatically unlocks milestone badges for players as they rack up goals, assists, appearances and more — goals, assists, free kicks, penalties scored and saved, goal-saving actions, clean sheets, hat tricks, five-goal games, captaincy, training and match attendance, wins, draws, losses, and Player of the Game and Trainer of the Week awards. Each category has five tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Legend — tracked separately for the current season and for the player's whole time at the club.
You don't award these yourself. They unlock the moment the stats behind them exist, so the only thing a coach needs to do is decide whether the feature is on for the team.
What you'll learn
- What kinds of things earn a badge, and roughly what the thresholds look like
- When a badge actually unlocks
- Where families see badges, and why there's no coach-side badge screen
- How to turn achievements on or off for your team
- Why a player needs stats recorded for badges to appear at all
Quick Steps
- Open Team Management — From the drawer menu tap Team Management.
- Go to the Features tab — Select Features among the tabs.
- Find Player Achievements — It's described as "Unlockable milestone badges for players, shown in the Parent & Player Hub."
- Toggle it on or off — Use the switch. The description suggests turning it off for older age groups if it feels too playful.
- Keep recording matches and training as normal — Badges unlock from the same goals, assists, saves, attendance and awards you're already tracking; there's nothing extra to do.
A few examples, out of 150+ badges
Thresholds scale by category and by season versus career. A handful of examples:
- Goals (season) — Bronze at 1 goal ("First Blood"), Legend at 20.
- Hat Tricks (season) — Bronze at 1 ("Hat Trick Hero"), Gold at 5.
- Clean Sheets (season) — Bronze at 1 clean sheet, Legend at 10.
- Match Attendance (season) — Gold at 15 games played ("Consistent").
- Captain (season) — Silver at 3 matches as captain ("The Leader").
- Goal Saving Actions (season) — Gold at 15 ("The Shield").
- Goals (career) — Legend at 150 goals ("R9").
- Training Attendance (career) — Platinum at 175 sessions ("The Professional").
When a badge unlocks
SquadTracker checks every active player's stats whenever something changes that could unlock a new tier: completing a match, saving match stats from the live tracker, saving a training session's attendance, and importing results from a fixture feed. Season badges only unlock while your team has an active season; career badges track everything a player has ever done at the club, season filter or not.
Where families see badges — and why coaches don't have a separate screen
Badges appear in the Parent & Player Hub, under the Achievements menu item, where families can see every category, how close a player is to the next tier, and a "Trophy cabinet" of everything already unlocked. There's currently no separate badge-viewing screen on the coach side of the app — your control is the on/off switch in Team Management. See Achievement Badges in the Hub for exactly what families see and how the "new badge" notifications work.
Badges depend on what you record
A badge can only unlock from a stat that exists. If your team doesn't track goalkeeper stats, captaincy or goal types, those categories simply never fill up — nothing breaks, there's just no data to hit a milestone with. See Understanding Your Stats Page for what each stat is and how it's recorded, and Match Features for turning tracking on for your team.
Permissions
Only the head coach or team admin can change the Player Achievements switch; assistant coaches can see it but can't toggle it.
