Drill Library and Drill Designer
How to browse, filter, create and attach drills to your training sessions
Drill Library and Drill Designer
The Drill Library is where you browse ready-made training drills, build your own with a pitch diagram, and attach them to a training session so you've got a plan before you arrive. Every drill — yours or the built-in ones — can be rated, favourited and reused season after season.
What you'll learn
- How to browse and filter the library
- What's in a drill's detail view
- How to create your own drill with the Pitch Designer
- Why you can't edit every drill you see
- How to attach drills to a training session, and what families see of them
Quick Steps
- Open Drill Library — From the drawer menu tap Drill Library.
- Filter or search — Use the search box, or filter by Category, Difficulty, Age Group and source (All Drills, My Drills, Favourites, Platform, My Team, Community).
- Tap a drill card to open its detail sheet — diagram, instructions, equipment and rating.
- Create your own — Tap Create Drill, fill in Basics, Instructions, then draw a Diagram.
- Attach it to a session — Open a training session, tap Add Drill under Session Drills, and pick from the library.
Browsing, filtering and rating
Drills are grouped by category on the main library page. Each card shows duration, player count, equipment, a star rating, and a Platform or Shared badge if it isn't one of your own. Tap the heart icon to favourite a drill — it then shows under the Favourites filter.
Tap any card to open its detail sheet: the pitch diagram (with a key for every arrow and marking), step-by-step instructions, pitch setup notes, equipment needed, and a star rating you can add your own vote to. Use the arrows at the top of the sheet to move to the next or previous drill without closing it.
Creating your own drill
Tap Create Drill and work through three steps:
- Basics — Title, a one-line description, one or more Categories, a Difficulty, optional Age Groups, duration in minutes, minimum and maximum players, and equipment needed. Choose Public — shared with all coaches or Private — only visible to you.
- Instructions — Step-by-step instructions and optional pitch setup notes, both in a rich-text editor.
- Diagram — Use the Pitch Designer to draw on a pitch, or switch to Upload Image to add a screenshot of your own tactics board instead.
The Pitch Designer has four tool groups: Players (Team A, Team B, Neutral), Equipment (cones, balls, goals in four orientations), Arrows (Pass, Through Ball, Run with or without the ball, Overlap, Press, Cross, Shot, and curved Curve Right/Left/U-Turn arrows) and Markings (lines and boxes). With the Select tool active, drag any element to move it, and press the Delete key to remove whatever's selected. On a phone, tap Open Full Screen Designer for a bigger canvas — landscape gives you the most room to work with.
Editing and deleting drills
You can edit or delete a drill you created yourself — tap the pencil or bin icon on its card. Built-in Platform drills, and drills created by another coach (even on your own team), can't be edited or deleted; tap Create Drill to build your own version instead if you want to adapt one.
Attaching drills to a session
Open a training session and find Session Drills. Tap Add Drill to search the library and add one — or search while creating the session in the first place, under "Browse library". Once added, drills show their position, duration and player count; use the up/down arrows to reorder them or the bin icon to remove one, and tap a drill to reopen its full detail sheet. The total planned duration for the session is shown at the top of the list.
Drills you attach are for your own planning — families in the Parent & Player Hub see the training date, time and location, but not the drill content itself. See Training Sessions for scheduling a session and taking attendance.
