League Mapping: Matching Imported Fixtures to Your Teams

A league's fixture list names teams however the league wants — not necessarily how you named them in SquadTracker. League mapping gives each of your teams a league team name that matches the fixture CSV exactly, so when you import fixtures, SquadTracker knows which of your teams each row belongs to without you picking it by hand every time.

League mapping now lives inside the Season Hub, as Step 3 · Leagues & divisions — any old bookmark to a separate League Mapping page will redirect you straight there.

What you'll learn

  • What a league mapping actually is and why it matters
  • When you need to set one, and what happens if you skip it
  • How to map a team automatically, or fix one by hand
  • What happens to fixtures once a team is mapped
  • Who can set league mappings for your club

Quick Steps

  1. Open Season Hub — From your club's left-hand menu, tap Season Hub, then select Step 3 · Leagues & divisions.
  2. Select your leagues — Expand Select your leagues and tick every league your teams play in this season.
  3. Run Detection — Press Run Detection. SquadTracker compares each of your team names against every team in those leagues and suggests a match, with a confidence badge — Exact, High, Medium, Low or No match.
  4. Accept or fix suggestions — Press Accept all suggestions, or review them team by team: a suggested name only appears as a clickable hint under the field, so it never overwrites something you've already typed in.
  5. Save — Press Save all (or Save all changes at the bottom) to store every change in one go.

Fixing a wrong mapping

Type directly into the League team name, League or Division field for any team and press Save all — there's no need to re-run detection. Leaving a field blank never clears a saved value, so you can't accidentally wipe a mapping by saving with an empty box.

When you need to do this

Do this before you import fixtures for a new season, or whenever a team's name in the league doesn't match what detection suggests. If a team has no league team name set, the fixture importer still tries to match it by team name alone, but it's less reliable — importing will warn you with a list of teams that still need mapping, so you can go back and fix them.

What happens once a team is mapped

When you import fixtures, SquadTracker matches each row's home and away team name against your teams' league team names (falling back to their SquadTracker team name) and drops matched fixtures into the Fixture Staging Area for review — nothing goes on your calendar automatically. From there you can run Auto-Schedule to assign pitches and kick-off times. See Import Fixtures and Auto-Scheduling Fixtures for those next steps.

Who can do this

Only club owners and admins can access the Season Hub and set league mappings.

Tips

League team lists are cached on your device for an hour after you run detection, so re-running it shortly after won't re-fetch the same league data. Mapping a division alongside the league team name isn't required, but it's worth filling in if detection finds one — it saves you sorting fixtures by division later.
