Your Data: Download a Copy or Delete Your Account
You can download a copy of your personal data, export your team's data, or delete your account
at any time. This article covers all three, and what happens to your data at each step.
What you'll learn
- How to download a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- How to export your team's players, matches and stats
- What happens, step by step, when you delete your account
- How the 14-day cooling-off period works, and how to change your mind
- What to do if you are the only owner of a club
- How to make a request by email instead
Download your personal data
- Go to Account → Export Data.
- Under Your personal data, press Download my personal data.
- A JSON file downloads straight away, named
squadtracker-personal-data-..json
The file contains your account details, security settings, subscription status, team and club
memberships, and anything else linked to you personally, including the full text of the team
chat messages you sent (which may contain names you typed). It never includes messages written by
anyone else or other people's personal data. For security, you can only download it up to 5 times an hour.
Export your team data
Coaches can also export their team's players, matches, training sessions and statistics.
- Go to Account → Export Data.
- Under Team data export, choose what to export and whether you want JSON or CSV.
- Press Continue to Export, then re-enter your password to confirm it's you.
- Press Export Data to download the file.
Delete your account
- Go to Account → Delete Account.
- Read what will be deleted and what stays, then choose whether to email yourself a copy of your data, and press Continue.
- Enter your password to confirm it's you.
- If you coach any teams, review what happens to each one, then press Continue. For a team with other coaches you choose: hand it to one of them, leave it without a head coach, or tell us the team has folded (it is deleted with your account).
- If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it in your store account and tick to confirm, then press Continue.
- On the final screen, press Schedule deletion to confirm.
The 14-day cooling-off period
Your account is not deleted straight away. As soon as you confirm:
- Your account is deactivated: you are signed out of every device and stop receiving messages and notifications.
- It is permanently deleted 14 days later, on the date shown on the final screen.
- You can change your mind at any point in those 14 days, either by pressing the restore link in the email we send you straight away, or by signing in again and pressing Restore. Either way, your account carries on as before.
- If you sign in during the 14 days, you'll land on a page that lets you restore your account or sign out again while it stays scheduled for deletion.
- Once the 14 days are up, deletion is final and cannot be undone.
If you ticked the box to email yourself a copy of your data, that email includes a download
link valid for 30 days and up to 3 downloads. It contains your personal data, your teams'
players, matches and stats, and teamsheet PDFs for any team that folds.
Other coaches on your teams are emailed about any ownership changes, or told the date if you said a
team they coach has folded; they can ask you to restore your account and hand the team over instead.
Parents and players linked through the Hub to a folding team are emailed at the start of the 14 days with a copy of
their child's stats.
When the 14 days are up and your account is deleted:
- Your name, email, photo, sign-in details, security settings and notification devices are removed.
- Any standalone team where you were the only coach is permanently deleted, along with its player records, matches and statistics.
- Any other team you coached keeps its data, including lineups, drills and availability answers you created. The remaining coaches keep access, and your name is removed.
- Club-managed teams stay with the club, which can assign a new coach.
- Team chat messages, reactions and poll votes you posted stay visible to your team, shown as from Deleted User.
- Your name and signature on completed teamsheets stay as part of the match record.
- Your SquadTracker subscription billed by card is cancelled at that point, with no refund for unused time. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are separate and must be cancelled in your store account.
- We keep a record that the account was deleted (your email address and the date) for 7 years, and sign-in security logs for up to 12 months with your email replaced by an anonymous reference.
- Encrypted backups are kept for up to 30 days, then removed for good.
- Payment records are kept for 7 years, as UK law requires.
FAQ: I deleted my account by mistake
Sign in, or use the restore link in the email we sent you, any time within 14 days to get your
account back exactly as it was. After 14 days the deletion is final, so email
support@squadtracker.co.uk if you still want to ask, but we won't be able to bring it back.
If you are the only owner of a club
If you're the only owner of a club, you can't delete your account until someone else can take
over that ownership. The Delete Account flow tells you which club is affected and links you
straight to its members page. Promote another member to owner there, or delete the club, then
come back and try again.
Requests by email
If you'd rather ask us directly, email support@squadtracker.co.uk and we'll action your
request within one month. We may need to verify your identity first, so please email from the
address on your account.
